FOYER NOTRE-DAME DES SANS-ABRI , LYON FRANCE
In 2010, a friend from City Hall in Lyon who knew I love to photograph people out of the ordinary, invited me to a meeting at the FOYER NOTRE-DAME DES SANS-ABRI near the Perrache train station.
I blended in right away with such a warm welcome and enthusiasm; there was music, laughter, a pure joy of living and humanity.
Everybody, adult and children wanted to be photograph. I had an incredible and rich experience.
What is this place?
Created by Gabriel Rosset in 1950 and since then,
the association LE FOYER NOTRE-DAME DES SANS-ABRI has been helping isolated people – women and men – and families in difficulty,
with multiple realities and suffering: people without housing,
victims of violence, isolated women and men suffering from psychological or even psychiatric problems,
long-term unemployed people, young people on the move,
often single-parent families, migrants with or without documents…
